December 1969, a young soldier from New Berlin was gravely wounded by a round from an AK-47 while serving in Vietnam. That day changed the lives of many, many people in New Berlin and beyond. More than forty years of volunteer service to his community, his church and his friends was the change Al Stigler gave to all of us. We gather together for this golf outing to remember and honor this inspiration known as Al Stigler. Keeping his memory alive, along with helping three of his close charit- able causes, is our way of saying thank you to this selfless man.
Al’s “Brothers” are proud to sponsor the 4th annual Al Stigler Golf outing on Thursday, August 30th at New Berlin Hills Golf Course. The event includes 18 holes of golf with cart, Hole Contests, Drink Tickets, Golf Balls, Dinner, Awards, and Raffle Prizes.
Registration for the event will begin at 11:00 am followed by a putting contest. The golf will begin with a noon shotgun start. The format for the golf will be a four-person scramble. There will be Hole Contests including Longest Drive, Longest Putt, and many others. There will be three hole-in-one contests where participants have the opportunity to win Nike Pro Cavity Irons, 42” LCD TV or a Foursome package at Whistling Straights.
Playing rules give all golfers a chance to win. Register by August 27th. Following the golf there will be a dinner beginning at 5:00 pm that will include awards, raffle prizes, and networking opportunities.
As in the past, proceeds of this event will be evenly distributed to The New Berlin Soap Box Derby, New Berlin Veterans Memorial Society and the Wisconsin Lions Camp for the Kids. Over $10,000 has been raised since the event started.
The cost of the event is $75 per golfer with hole sponsorships at $75, or $25 for Dinner only. Anyone is welcome to join in the fun. If you are interested, contact Ted Wysocki at 262-782-0267 or Twysocki@wi.rr.com for registration information.
Raffle donations from local businesses and residents will be welcomed. Any items that you believe will promote your organization would be greatly appreciated. All contributors will be recognized throughout the event. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
