Wisconsin Lutheran, the reigning boys basketball champ in Division 2, immediately took it to 2008 champion New Berlin Eisenhower for a 71-55 regional final victory Saturday afternoon at Milwaukee Marquette.
Wisconsin Lutheran 65, New Berlin West 42
Wisconsin Lutheran's Terry Nash did a little bit of everything and led the defending WIAA Division 2 state champs to a rout of visiting New Berlin West in a regional quarterfinal. The lightning-quick Nash finished with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
New Berlin Eisenhower 50, Wauwatosa West 47
Mitch Sperka, a 6-foot-3 senior, had a game-high 20 points and 15 rebounds, and his fourth-quarter heroics helped Eisenhower rally for a 50-47 win over visiting Wauwatosa West and remain unbeaten.
Brookfield Central 58, New Berlin Eisenhower 36
Brookfield Central extended a nine-point halftime lead to 15 and then cemented the victory by not allowing a field goal during the game's final 8 minutes, 23 seconds.
