Chad Mathwig's return from injury paid immediate dividends for the Vikings.
Mathwig, who missed three games with an injured ankle, scored 23 points to lead all players in the Vikings 62-56 overtime win at Wauwatosa West on Jan. 5.
Jesse Riehle (14 points) and Mark Ropella (11) added plenty of support for the Vikings, who snapped a three-game losing steak.
New Berlin West turned the defense up a notch in a 48-23 win over visiting Greendale on Jan. 8.
No player on either team reached double figures, but Cody Tomsak, who had also missed time with an injury in late December, tallied a game-high nine for the Vikings (7-5, 7-2).
