Basketball Results: Week 3

Boys Minis

Blazers (New Berlin Fire), Kings:  The Kings had a tough time scoring on the opponent.  Sam Korducki had 2 steals and one block.  Jake Biallas and Zach Maly led the King with four rebounds each.

 

Girls Minors

Magic (Sleep Wellness Institute) 18, Nets (New Berlin Police) 22:  The Nets jumped to an early lead with points from Sarah Leitinger, Amanda Leder, Gabby Majinski, Maria Skoufis, and Natalia Casic.  Defensive leaders were Amber Skoglund, Victoria Fredrickson, Kira Loomer, Kayla Olson, and Heather Skoglund.

 

Girls Juniors

Rockets (New Berlin Fire) 32, Suns (New Berlin Police) 0:  The game started out a little slow but soon the Rockets intercepted passes and worked the ball inside to develop opportunities to score.  The Rocket played a great defensive game, learning how to switch on screens and play help defense.  Rocket steals for the game included Jenna Linssen and Elise Arnas with eleven each, while Rachel Rasmussen and Morgan Lynch each had five and Ruwandi Wijenayake and Lizzi Lovdahl contributed two each.  At the end of the first half, the score was 16-0.  The Rockets continued to score by passing the ball to their open teammates, and by aggressively working for rebounds.  Leading the team in rebounds were Jenna Linssen with 9, Rachel Rasmussen with 4, Elise Arnas and Lizzi Lovdal with 3, and Morgan Lynch with 2.  Leading scorers for the Rockets were Jenna Linssen with 16, Elise Arnas and Monica Lauerman with 8 points, and Kayla Moran with 4.

 

Boys Majors

Bobcats 21, Celtics 32:  The Celtics moved to 2-1 with a 32-21 win over the Bobcats.  Mike Hilger led the Celtics with 11 points while David Franke added 6 points and Keenan Mooney scored 5.
