Muskego Storm fastpitch tryouts scheduled

The Muskego Storm Select Fastpitch teams will hold their final tryout for the 2010 season Sept. 12.

The tryout will be at Mill Valley Elementary School, W191 S6445 Hillendale Drive. Players should try out for teams based on their age as of Dec. 31, 2009. The schedule is U10 - 10 a.m.; U12 - 11 a.m.; U14 - noon; U16 - 1 p.m. The rainout date is Sept. 13, same times.

Players are advised to arrive 30 minutes early for registration and warm-ups.

The Storm is for Muskego players who are interested in competing beyond the recreational level.

New Berlin players named to all-conference team

Eleven players from New Berlin earned all-Woodland Conference honors following the 2009 baseball season.

The following players made the all-Woodland team (comprised of players of both divisions): senior pitcher Ben Falls, New Berlin West; senior infielder Tony Smith, West; and sophomore utility player Alex McRae, New Berlin Eisenhower.

New Berlin's all-North Division selections were first team - Falls; Smith; junior infielder Jesse Riehle, West; junior pitcher Adam Vlaj, Eisenhower; McRae (at catcher); second team - sophomore catcher Bryan Thiessenhusen, West; sophomore infielder Jake Rink, West; junior outfielder Brian York, Eisenhower; freshman outfielder Zach Sholz, West; senior outfielder Paul Marx, West; senior designated hitter Eric Danihel, Eisenhower.

Muskego youth softball teams looking for players

The Muskego Hornets fast pitch softball tryouts are Saturday at Mill Valley Elementary School, W191 S6445 Hillendale Dr.

Times are U10 at 9 to 10:30 a.m.; U12 at 10:30 a.m. to noon; U14 at noon to 1:30 p.m.

Players are advised to arrive 30 minutes before tryout to register and warm up. Players will be evaluated on throwing, running, fielding, bunting, hitting, knowledge of the game and attitude. Pitchers and hitters will be evaluated after the regular session.

Wanaki Golf Course hosts family day, scramble events

Wanaki Golf Course, W20830 Lisbon Road, Menomonee Falls, will host a series of family days every Saturday in August.

Every Saturday in August after 3 p.m. juniors age 17 and younger will golf free with a paying adult, with a limit of one junior per paying adult.
