NBAA Basketball Highlights: Week 3

Boys Minors

Raptors 18, Bucks 14: The Raptors balanced offensive attack and smothering defense were enough to pull out a win against a tough Bucks team. Key baskets by Ben Schaefer, Stephen Halusan and Matt Schwemmer propelled the Raptors.

Wizards 30, 76ers 10: The Wizards moved their record to 2-1 with a 30-10 win over the 76ers. The Wizards had a strong defensive game led by Adam Lancaster and Jack Von Rueden. Wyatt Bullough had 3 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. The Wizards scoring was led by Bryce Miller who had 16 points and Kyle Kraninger who had 10 points. Jack Von Rueden and Jon Kryszewski each added 2 points.


Girls Minors 4th

Hawks 10, Lakers 14: The New Berlin Lakers played a great defensive game, learning how to switch on screens and play help defense. Anabelle Smith, Molly Austad, and Lexi Haines played especiialy aggressive on defense, and have several steals. Haley Johnson, Anabelle Smith, and Katie Lindemann made up the Laker's 14 points, Katie Lindemann carrying the team with 8 fabulous lay-up points! Lakers record is now 2-1.


Girls Majors

Jazz (Tri City Bank) 19, Warriors (New Berlin Police) 16: The Dec. 20 Girls Majors game with the Tri City Bank Jazz against the New Berlin Police Warriors went back and forth. The teams exchanged the lead in the second half. The Jazz had distributed scoring from Sarah Starsiak, Mariah Kastner, Amber Williamschen, Paytra and Sash Stojanovich and a free throw from Madeline Muchenberger. With well run plays from Mary McElligott and Katie Pitterle the clock ran out as the Jazz won 19 to 16.
