The late South Milwaukee High School legend Rocket John Bogadi will be honored prior to the Rockets' season-opening football game with New Berlin West on Friday.
A video tribute of Bogadi will play in the school's performing arts center from 5-5:30 p.m. From 5:30 until the 7 p.m. kickoff, fans can join each other for a tailgate-type gathering in the Spaltholz Field parking lot to share stories and memories about Bogadi, the longtime Rockets fan who passed away last month.
A moment of silence in Bogadi's honor will precede the opening kickoff.
Donations will be excepted on-site for the Rocket John Memorial Fund.
If you are unable to attend but would like to receive information about the Rocket John Memorial Fund, contact the SMHS athletic office at (414) 766-5070 or email audovicic@sdsm.k12.wi.us.
