Public Forum:
We are Jack Chiovatero's three children who would like to wish our father nothing but the best for his upcoming re-election.
Something you may not know about our father is that he raised us as a single parent after our mother lost her battle with cancer. Dad has put in a lot of hours and energy into his work as an alderman and a mayor. We grew up with him being a government official. He takes his job seriously, has worked long hours, and has done so without ever complaining.
We've supported him because we know he cares. He has done his best to always be there for us, and we realize balancing family and late night meetings is no easy feat. Thanks to his guidance and constant encouragement, we have all grown into very successful adults.
As the mayor's children, it is tough to read or hear negative publicity. We have learned from our father to rise above adversity and be true to who we are. We know his character better than anyone and we know that at the end of the day, he is a great man, with high integrity and a big heart.
We often we hear him leave in the middle of the night due to community emergencies such as local fires, snowstorms, floods, or serious traffic accidents. We have learned a lot from our father and realize he puts 110 percent into his job. We will surely use the skills he has taught us as we continue to build our careers as young professionals.
We know he is the best man for the job of mayor of New Berlin.
