What is the biggest challenge facing New Berlin and how would you address it?

To strike a balance between maintaining and improving the quality of life, and our essential infrastructure while operating within the current and projected revenue sources, I would work with staff and the Common Council to develop a strategic plan. This would closely examine each major activity and program for opportunities to maintain or improve services cost effectively. Where supported by reliable data and our residents, I would reorganize or reduce less important activities. All with meaningful and ongoing public input.

What are the best reasons for people to vote for you?

My experience in business, consulting, local government and community service has taught me the importance of real two-way communication. In local government, genuine communication is essential to faithfully serve our fellow residents. I will listen to what people say, with no misrepresentation. I will honestly represent them with financial responsibility to maintain and improve our quality of life and important services and infrastructure.

What is the biggest challenge facing New Berlin and how would you address it?

One of the biggest challenges was the previous administration. I feel now that Mayor Ament has been elected, the past struggles and lack of information from the mayor's office are now behind us. The challenge now is to get the City Center running to its full potential. This will mean working with city staff and making sure that the mayor's office and members of the Common Council keep an open dialogue with all the residents of New Berlin, even those people whose ideas we may disagree with.

What are the best reasons for people to vote for you?

I will continue to strive for zero tax increases without sacrificing services. This will mean that we have to make our local government more efficient. This year we passed a zero budget increase for the city portion of your tax bill, while hiring police officers and Fire Department personnel, which will help with the most important part of local government: public safety. I will continue to keep residents of New Berlin informed through newsletters, emails and phone calls. I am very pleased to represent District 2, I look forward to serving you as your alderwoman.
