Rally to point out government's limits

Feb. 3, 2010 | 0 comments

New Berlin — An author, a candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court and an actor and writer will be the featured speakers at what is billed as a "Constitutional Rally," to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. SaturdayFeb. 6 in the performing Arts Center of New Berlin West High School, 18695 W. Cleveland Ave.

The rally cosponsor, the Wisconsin GrandSons of Liberty, describe the rally as not a protest but a time to educate people about the US constitution and how it limits the powers of government. Tim Dake, a founder of the Wisconsin

GrandSons of Liberty, said the purpose is to highlight the people's rights and the government's limitations so they will recognize how in his opinion the government oversteps its bounds.

The rally is not a protest. Signs will not be allowed.

One of the speakers will be Kevin Gutzman, author of "The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution." Joining him will be Randy Koschnick, a Jefferson County Circuit Court judge and candidate for Wisconsin Supreme Court. Also on the podium will be Bob Basso, an actor and writer who portrays American Revolution-era pamphleteer Thomas Paine.

The free event is cosponsored by Americans for Prosperity.
