• The following students were named to the chancellor's list at the University of Wisconsin-Stout for the fall 2009 semester for maintaining a 3.5 grade-point average or higher: Jacob Holtz and Gina Lind - Muskego; and Alison Buxrude, David Carlson, David Crabb, Matthew Kuglitsch, Ryan Roth and Christopher Young - New Berlin.
• Ian Trampe of Muskego was named to the dean's list at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the fall 2009 semester. He is the son of Dan and Marybeth Tampe.
• Sarah Wolfe of Muskego and Keith Smith of New Berlin were both named to the dean's list at Carroll University for the fall 2009 semester.
• The following students graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in December: Mark Mersenski - Muskego; and David Carlson, Christopher Karraker, Joseph Kubena and Daniel Mora - New Berlin.
• Alicia Dupont of Muskego has graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., with a master's degree.
• Noelle Fritz of Muskego and Andrea Felton of New Berlin were named to the dean's list at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., for the fall 2009 semester.
• Alicia Puryear of Muskego and Samantha Treptow, Ashley Vlaj and Vanessa Zellmer, all of New Berlin, were all named to the dean's list at Concordia University for the fall 2009 semester.
• Byron Butler of New Berlin was named to the dean's list at the University of Iowa for the fall 2009 semester.
• Nikki Kulas of New Berlin will star in "Cloud 9," a play that will be performed at Parkside Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Kulas plays Clive's mother-in-law Maud in the first act and Lin in the second act.
• Taylor Heinlein of Muskego was named to the dean's list at the University of St. Thomas for the fall 2009 semester.
• Alex Rio of Muskego, a student at University of Wisconsin-Madison, won first-place in the Tong Prototype Prize competition along with $2,500 for the PolyForm Pack. This is an annual competition at UW-Madison that rewards innovative and marketable ideas.
• Cathryn Niemczynski of Muskego was named to the dean's list at Gateway Technical College for the fall 2009 semester.
• The following students were named to the dean's list at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities for the fall 2009 semester: Allison DuLac - Muskego; and Maxwell Cummings, Alexander Ebert, Blake Fitzgerald, Leanne Hersh, Michelle Hersh, Whitney Ladwig, Nicole Marek, Rachel Osiecki, Kimberly Perla, Benjamin Seese and Joshua Semrow - New Berlin.
• Marla Mlachnik of Muskego was named to the dean's list at Lee University for the fall 2009 semester.
SCHOOLSCENE
• Elliot Yang of New Berlin played the cello and shared the stage with The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra as an honorable mention at the Pabst Theater during the 43rd annual Audrey G. Baird Stars of Tomorrow.
• Rishil Mehta, an eighth-grader at New Berlin Eisenhower, placed first and Naomi Bhagat, a sixth-grader at Orchard Lane Elementary, placed sixth at the Regional Spelling Bee held Feb.18 at Longfellow Middle School in Wauwatosa.
• Austin Pucylowski, a senior at Catholic Memorial High School and a parishioner St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in New Berlin, signed with Illinois State University to play football.
• Joseph Chiappetta, a senior at Catholic Memorial High School and a parishioner St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in New Berlin, signed with Lipscomb University to play soccer.
• Derek Schell, a senior at Catholic Memorial High School and a parishioner St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in New Berlin, signed with Hillsdale College in Michigan to play basketball.
• T.J. Bray, a senior at Catholic Memorial High School and a parishioner Holy Apostles in New Berlin, signed with Princeton University to play basketball.
YOURNEIGHBORS
• Michael Peer of New Berlin passed the Certified Fraud Examiner Exam. Michael has been with Kolb+Co.SC since 2006 and in public practice since 1995.
• Dave Kusnierek and Rob Van Willigen, both employees of Batzner in New Berlin, have their Associated Certified Entomologist (ACE) certification. Rob also recently won the Commercial Technician of the Year.
SERVICENEWS
• U.S. Army National Guard Pvt. Anthony Abbott has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. Anothony earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is a 2005 graduate of Muskego High School and the son of Therese Abbott of Muskego.
