Amanda L. Porth and James Barber were married July 11, 2009, at Grafton Dells River Park in Cedarburg.

Parents of the bride are Raymond Porth and Cindy Porth, both of New Berlin. Parents of the groom are Marian Barber of Franklin and the late Dennis Barber.

The Rev. Judith Kubish officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Grafton Dells River Park.

The bride wore a hand-made gown designed by Becky's Custom Sewing in Bay View. She carried a bouquet of flowers arranged by Petals, Inc., in Wauwatosa.

Maid of honor was Bethany Larson of Wauwatosa, friend of the bride. Bridesmaid was Chelsey Porth of New Berlin.

Best man was Mike Chianese of Milwaukee, friend of the groom. Groomsman was Alan Miller of Milwaukee.

The bride, who earned her bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, is a U.S. Grant, 5-year-old kindergarten teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools system.

The groom, who earned his bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from UW-Milwaukee, is in information technology at Lutheran Social Services in Milwaukee.

The couple honeymooned at Playa Mujeres in Cancun, Mexico, for one week. They reside in Milwaukee.
