Kevin K. Klawitter

Kevin K. Klawitter of Appleton, formerly of Breed, died July 22, 2009, at age 85.

He was born in Suring on Sept. 13, 1923, to the late Henry and Odessa (nee Cronce) Klawitter. Kevin married Verona Firgens on Dec. 15, 1945, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed. He worked as a welder in West Allis, was street superintendant in New Berlin and was captain of the New Berlin Fire Department.

Kevin retired and moved back to Breed in 1978. He is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Breed Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling with Verona. Kevin will always be remembered for his sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Verona of Appleton; children, Ronald (Patricia) Klawitter of New Berlin, Tim (Linda) Klawitter of Appleton, Sue Gregesich of Appleton and Jerry (Bonnie) Klawitter of New Berlin; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Klawitter.

Service was July 26 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Breed. Burial was at Breed Union Cemetery.

The family thanks everyone who helped Kevin and Verona.

Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring, handled the arrangements.
