Elizabeth Littleton Henderson of Marietta, Ga. and Benjamin Hayes Wicker of New Berlin were married Sept. 14, 2013 at Big Butte Mountain Retreat in Waynesville, N.C.
Jeff Byrd, uncle of the bride, officiated the ceremony with a reception following at the same location.
Parents of the bride are John and Sharon Henderson of Marietta, Ga., and the groom's parents are Kathy and Jim Wicker of Egg Harbor.
The bride wore an A-Line silhouette gown with an embroidered illusion bodice and carried a bouquet of local flowers and hydrangea.
Joelle Wicker was commentator at the wedding, and the bride and groom were escorted in by their parents.
The bride earned her master's degree of western Carolina education and childhood development at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga., and works as a counselor at Buncombe County Early College High School in Asheville, N.C.
The groom earned his bachelor's degree in natural resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and works in packaging and quality control at Highland Brewery in Asheville, N.C.
The couple planned a honeymoon in Big Butte Mountain Retreat and reside in Asheville, N.C.
The couple both train for running marathons and spend many hours outdoors. The wedding weekend was shared by staying at the Big Butte Mountain cabins.
