A female driver, who did not want to give her name to the media, encounters a City of Wauwatosa Fire Department first responder around noon on Wednesday, Aug. 22, in Wauwatosa. The woman crossed the center line and hit a utility support cable in front of Officer Dan Kane's parked squad car at the intersection of Wells and 70th streets Kane was standing in the open door of his parked squad car at the time of the crash. Referring to the cable Kane said, "If she had not hit that I'd be dead."
