Sky's the Limit

Tom "Sky" Skibosh covers the Wauwatosa, Brookfield and New Berlin prep scene for Community Newspapers. If something is going on in local sports, Sky has an opinion about it. If you agree or not with what Sky says, we want to see your comments.

Ok ladies, it's tourney time for you.

Except for Brookfield Central, I had my five other boys basketball teams fail to make it past the weekend. Three of my teams (New Berlin West, Brookfield East, Wauwatosa West) went out after one game and two teams - New Berlin Eisenhower and Wauwatosa East - went down in two games.

The Lancers – the state’s top team – plays the state’s second-ranked team – Milwaukee King – Thursday night at Brookfield East, with the winner playing the winner of the West Allis Central-Racine Case game come Saturday at 4 p.m. at WAC.

???Here’s a stat for you:  These four teams in the WAC Sectional have a combined 86-9 record, a .905 winning percentage. That's ridiculous!

Tosa West (8-15)

My #6 Tosa West girls opened Tuesday night with a 76-4 win over #11 Milwaukee Madison/Career & Technical/Northwest (2-10) - Now that is a mouthful. MMCTN is easier to write.

Tosa West at #3 Shorewood (16-6) on Friday

Tosa West is coached by Ashley Imperiale.

Top players: Abbey Jones (10 ppg), 5-11 junior forward, Ashley Lindstrom (9.1 ppg), 5-8 senior guard, Elise Ditscheit (6.4 ppg), 5-9 senior guard.

Trojans notes: Tosa West had lost seven games in a row before defeating MMCTN in Tuesday’s regional quarterfinal game.  Their only winning streak of the year came on Dec. 6, 10, 13 when they beat South Milwaukee (48-26),  at St. Francis (64-11) and Greenfield (54-41).

Shorewood Greyhounds, coached by Jeff Eimers.

Top players: Jada Stackhouse (13.5 ppg, 6.8 rebs), Ashley Eimers (7.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg),  Grace Hayes (7.2, ppg, 5.2 rpg).

Greyhound notes: Shorewood comes into the postseason with a 2-game losing streak, with losses to Pewaukee (57-31) and Cudahy (44-41). Right before that, the Greyhounds had a 6-game winning streak. They opened the season with a 7-game hitting streak.
