Tasty bits and pieces

NO. 100 For Tosa's Reagan

Junior Ben Reagan earned his 100th career pin against South Milwaukee on Saturday at Tosa won the Silver Division of the 50th annual Tom Janssen Invitational. Reagan joins a very elite group of wrestlers in being only the sevnth wrestler in the history of Tosa to earn 100 wins and he has a year left.

"Ben improved to 31-2 on the year and has just been dominant of late," coach Kent Morin said. "He is so quick and strong that it is very difficult for anyone to stay with him in matches. I expect just great things out of him the remainder of this season and next. It really was fun to watch him attain this milestone at such an early point in his career. The all-time record might be within his sights next year."

Two points!  Did he get hurt?

That was most people's reaction when looking at the box score of New Berlin Eisenhower's loss to Shorewood on Friday night and seeing Ike guard Reed Timmer with a career low two points. His average dropped to 31.3 points per game.

When I asked IKE coach Dave Scheidegger if Timmer got hurt, he chuckled. "No, they put two men on him the entire game."

It might be a strategy other teams try, so his teammates need to step up.

Flip a coin

If you follow Brookfield Central basketball, the boys and girls teams play Sussex Hamilton on Friday with first place on the line. The boys are on the road and the girls are at home. Going into the week the Lancers team had a combined 26-1 record.

The Lancers also have a HUGE game at second place West Allis Central on Tuesday!
