Dolores Karner blogs on behalf of the New Berlin Citizens for Responsible Government, whose mission is to inform the public about significant issues and to recommend public action when deemed necessary. The NBCRG believes government officials and their employees should be accountable for their actions or lack of actions. The group also recruits and endorses candidates to public office who best express the positions taken by this organization.

Memorial Day Appreciation!

This year pproximately 800 people attended the special Memorial Day ceremony held at Highland Memorial Park.  Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5716 and Ament Industrial Truck deserve an enormous amount of gratitude for making this solemn event a success.  We are aware that planning for this event requires much time and effort and we are extremely grateful for their dedication.

A  Memorial Day ceremony to honor men and women who gave their lives for our Freedom will be held on Monday, May 30 at ll:00 A.M. at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 14875 W. Greenfield Avenue.  Many of us have lost sight of the true meaning of Memorial Day.  Men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for us must never be forgotten.  We must continue to express our gratitude for their bravery that allows us to now live in relative peace and security.

New Berlin School Board Elects Joe Garza Superintendent

Joe Garza was unanimously appointed New Berlin Superintendent at the Board meeting held on Monday, May 9, 2011.  Garza formerly held the position of Assistant Superintendent in New Berlin.  School Board members felt he has proven himself in that position and will continue to serve the community well.
