The Saints-Colts Super Bowl is being hailed as the most watched TV show ever.
I watched the game Sunday with relatives and friends at my niece’s Super Bowl party.
Super Bowl XLIV was a riveting game with two good teams.
Everyone at the party seemed to be rooting for the New Orleans Saints.
We enjoyed this year’s Super Bowl game as much as the commercials.
Speaking of commercials, I thought the one with Brett Favre was a hoot.
Most at the party thought the half time performance by The Who was a bit of a dud, though.
Speaking of Brett Favre and the Super Bowl. I understand that you are a big Favre fan, which explains why you have been using Poshepny’s costly Brett Favre impersonation to your political advantage.
But now it seems that you (aka Who Cares) and Wilkens, Gatzke, Tully, Schober and Gallagher (aka Take Back Our City for Special Interest Developers) have thrown him under the bus, as I predicted you would on your very blog. The pamphlet distributed by TBOC says vote for anyone but Poshepny. He simply no longer serves your needs. Does Poshepny finally see who dumped on him? You guy's are now turning on him when he didn’t bring home enough bacon for the real power brokers behind the scenes. In your words “So, you think making numerous attacks on blogs (in this case fliers) against an ill, elderly, disabled person who sustained serious injuries including head injury is compassionate and Christian?” Why don’t you ask Gatzke, Wilkens, Gallager, Schober and Tully. Better just hide behind the Super Bowl-your agenda is showing, again.
Even his own lawyer, non other than the famous former Mayor that turned City Hall into Payton Place, is now showing his true colors. His keen ambulance chasing skills used Poshepny to attack his enemies on the Council with no regard for the taxpayers, which should come as no surprise based on his performance as mayor. As a “Registered Nurse and a church-going Christian” one would think you would question Gatzke’s very soul but rather then writing about the injustice of a power hungry disgraced former Mayor you are now writing about the Super Bowl. Nice touch.
Taxed too much ... you are a buffoon. You and your friends have emotional problems and should seek medical attention immediately. There are pills that can help you. Take your medicine and try not to drool on yourself.
A blog about the Super Bowl. Really?
REPOSTING:
What I dont agree with is people touting christianity and their occupation as a health care professional that somehow sets themselves above the rest of us and makes them an expert on the very local leaders she spends time after time tearing apart. She needs to admit she was wrong about Poshepny it has nothing to do with his health. Its about his frivolous waste of yours and my tax dollars because he couldnt remember signing his resignation. He needed to own up to his own actions but instead rang our cash register. Can you imagine Congress allowing either Bush or Obama to return to elected office after they submitted a resignation letter then turned around and claimed they didnt remember signing it? No one wants leadership like that in any position. So address the issue squarely admit you were wrong. Only then will you begin the long road back to the shred of credibility you had before this mess. Heck maybe then we can talk 'forgiveness' for the many vicious attacks youve attempted to sour our community with.
Talking about football and u-turns one simply MUST compare them to NB politics. It's it a hoot how Who Cares / TBOC flips their football (Poshepney) over for an interception when it is to their advantage - no matter who gets hurt. Shame, shame, shame - but this type of action is same, same, same ol' stuff from TBOC.
Pass the football - do the u-turn - football/politics - the game is on in New Berlin! Woo haa!
<football intermission time>
Linda, why aren't you blogging about the item on committe of the whole tonight: "Forums in Council Chambers".
You purport to be against council for voting forums OUT of city hall yet you never acknowledge the part you played in forcing this decision on council back in 2006.
Oh, by the way, let's not forget that Gallagher as a member of council VOTED OUT the forums and Gallagher is/was a member of WCNB.
<football game continues...>
It does truly appear that some people commenting on this blog have gone over the edge. It's also clear that other then the Mayor and Bill Moore we need new, moderate candidates to replace these extreme right wing people running our city and schools. I think taxed too much has cracked up based on his odd comments.
Jim Gatzke has done more for this City than any one of you posters. Be it Linda's gang of hooligans, or the Hoyne group of neanderthals. You show me one other person in town who has done more for this community than Jimmy. Ok, carry on with you guys beating each other over the head.
Voice lets stay on topic. Do you think Peyton Mannings shock and surprise when he threw that interception at least rivaled Lindas shock and surprise when Poshepny suprised her with an onside kick?
Chistev says....
"Jim Gatzke has done more for this City than any one of you posters. Be it Linda's gang of hooligans, or the Hoyne group of neanderthals. You show me one other person in town who has done more for this community than Jimmy. Ok, carry on with you guys beating each other over the head."
What has Jimmy done that makes this claim valid ?
If I recall those were some very turbulent years when he was Mayor....he even got booed at the parade.
The superbowl coordinates are still afraid to bring in young acts after the Janet Jackson incident.
HTC: "If I recall those were some very turbulent years when he was Mayor....he even got booed at the parade."
Well... you can read about "why" he got booed here: http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=770aAAAAIBAJ&sjid=ci8EAAAAIBAJ&pg=5745,1853846&dq=gatzke+baby&hl=en
Trivia: Way back in the 'olden days' Gatzke was employed by the Milwaukee Journal as a sports reporter. See Linda, Voice is staying on topic here. :D
Money and power can’t be Gatzke’s obsession with New Berlin politics, could it? Just because it seems he followed an ambulance over to Poshepny’s and used him to try to score (football reference) political points to regain the power he lost when he proposed a casino and a new football stadium (another football reference) be built in New Berlin with out taxes in an attempt to lure the Packers to New Berlin.
So lets look at this new development. Poshepny hires Gatzke to file a lawsuit to get his job back as the 5th district alderman. Within a month Gatzke signs a flyer from Take Back Our City for Special Interest Developers telling the voters in the 5th district not to vote for Poshepny. He must be a Favre fan as well.
Looks like our fearless blogger has run for the hills, switching topics quickly to a football game a thousand miles from our fair city on a blog called "inside" New Berlin. It happens when you get sold out by those close to you. Must not be any wifi in that cave shes not even responding. Was hoping shed tell us how her numbers got even smaller over the weekend according to what i hear.
Well Voice...I read your article and it has nothing to do with why he was booed. You do this all the time...you twist the facts. He was booed because he was moving the city in directions people didn't want to go...and way to fast. It had nothing to do with his kid ? You just throw anything up there to pretend you have some relevant fact now don't you.
Regarding Poshepny....don't you think the advice not to vote for him is simply because he is not running any more and if he gets elected it would allow the common council to appoint someone ? Isn't it easier just to advise people to vote for someone who is available to take office. I think you're intentionally blowing this out of proportion like you do everything else. Your the one with the hidden agenda all the time.
(Linda! Linda! HTC is off-topic again!)
(Voice will reply to HTC because Linda has not critiqued HTC for straying off topic.)
HTC: "Well Voice...I read your article and it has nothing to do with why he was booed. "
There was no twist by Voice on this topic: You mentioned the parade, Voice supplied the news article relating to the parade.
Here's some stats to stay on topic:
Peyton Manning: TDS 33 INT 16 YDS 4,500 RTG 99.9
Drew Brees: TDS 34 INT 11 YDS 4,388 RTG 109.6
Trivia: TBOC's 'football' stats from their current flier:
% of listed members (4 members) who lost re-election bids: 57%
% of listed members (2 members) who chose not to run for re-election: 29%
Wilkens - Poshepny. Don't see a difference. Both are mean nasty old men that decided not to run because they knew the 5th district was on to them. I wonder if Poshepny found Nazi propaganda at his home?
Start connecting the dots...after the Who Cares and Take Back Our City by Special Interest Developers gang could no longer use Poshepny they put out propaganda telling people not to vote for him, they had a new stoog to use. Patzer is a cosigner. Both are public officials connected to Chiovatero, Schober, Tully, Kaminski, Gallagher and Gatzke but are hiding the fact that apparently they don’t even live in New Berlin as required. If they don’t live here what could possibly be the reason for wanting these positions of power. Well, well, well could it be the financial benefit from being associated with the real power brokers behind Who Cares and TBOC?
If I was to recast the movie the Godfather, I would think Matt Weiss would be Fredo. The Hoyne kid would be sonny, the bully.
Pro football stats:
Sunday's Cowboys-Vikings game attracted 37.7 million viewers, the most-watched program on television since the previous Super Bowl.
Sunday's super Bowl XLIV broke the previous most-watched television program ever (final episode of M*A*S*H), with an average audience of 106.5 million viewers.
Trivia: TBOC's "football" team stats
Take the poll results from the following TBOC members (Gatzke/Patzer/Kaminski in 2001 and Gallagher in 2007 ), compare their race results with their opponents in those races. These TBOC members only garnered 5,727 votes out of 15,344 votes cast
They were voted OUT OF OFFICE by an average of 62.68%.

Voice......George W. Bush was elected President twice. Virtually everyone you talk to say he was the worst President in memory...possibly one of the worst of all time. He was elected....TWICE ! What does that tell you about slightly more then half the voters in our country. I laugh my butt off every time I think about this and then think about conservatives who think they know something about politics and what our country needs.
I can proudly say....I voted for "W"....exactly....Zero times. That tells me how smart I am compared to slightly more then half the voters in the country who thought "W" would be a good President....TWICE !
You can cite all the data you want....but New Berlin needs to shift away from these ultra conservatives quickly if we want our schools to be decent....our roads to be better then a pile of bumps, potholes and cracks and our government services to be kept in tact. Yes it will require taxes to pay for these things. With your philosophy we will go down the road Colorado Springs is. They don't like to pay taxes so instead they will light only 2/3 of their street lights each night. This is the kind of crap conservatives bring to the table.
The Saints could have played 2/3 of their players and cut payroll and increased profits for the shareholders.....but they wouldn't have won the big game. Do we want to have a great community in New Berlin....or a cheap place to live ?
Taxed too much and the rest of the Big 4 want a cheap place to live....I want a decent place to live. Time for change at the polls in April. We need fresh faces....except Bill Moore and our Mayor...these guys got it right.
lol Our Mayor? Mayor Eisenhower? Please.....Virtually everyone you talk to? You mean all of your liberal pals? Personally, I think that Carter was the worst president in my lifetime, but as time goes on, we'll find Barrack Hussain Obama will take all the awards for that trophey.
Rmemeber one thing here HTC, Not all Conservatives agree with the Hoyne group.
HTC- So if they do not spend, spend, spend they have to go? If you do not agree with them they have to go? If they do not beleive in "taxing to their full potential" they have to go? What will the fresh faces bring to the table? Are they all going to campaign on "taxing to their full potential"?
IMNOTWITHTHESEIDIOTS- Do tell, how did the roster get lighter?
HTC Milwaukee has a higher property tax rate than New Berlin. Their roads are a hundred times worse than any road in New Berlin. They have a higher sales tax rate than New Berlin. The city has been run by Democrats and Socialists for the past 60 years. Their schools are a mess with less than a 50% graduation rate. Maybe they should Tax Tax Tax More More More.
HTC: Stats sure seem to bother you. :D Deserves repeating:
62.68% cast their ballot AGAINST Gatzke/Patzer/Gallagher/Kaminski.
Gatzke/Patzer/Gallagher/Kaminski, the same TBOC members now trying to tell New Berlin voters who to vote for and who to vote against.
Game on! Woo haa!
I'm not going to argue about much....except our crappy roads and schools that offer less and less. It's just a fact....as I go down the roads the cracks and holes are getting bigger and what the schools offer is getting smaller. What I'm happy about is my kids are done with the schools .....but they have to drive on our stinky roads. You want stinky schools and crappy roads so you can have lower taxes....but I realize you have to pay to fix the roads and have good schools for all the kids. You make me laugh. Out with your kind ...and in with people who have a brain.....sorry...I'm just saying....you're not much of a thinker.
chistev said....
"lol Our Mayor? Mayor Eisenhower? Please.....Virtually everyone you talk to? You mean all of your liberal pals? Personally, I think that Carter was the worst president in my lifetime, but as time goes on, we'll find Barrack Hussain Obama will take all the awards for that trophey.
Rmemeber one thing here HTC, Not all Conservatives agree with the Hoyne group."
Well.....the Hoyne group makes the most noise...so .....if you have a different opinion you better perk up......because right now...you're lumped in with them.
Geno.....dork.....do you think it has anything to do with economics ? Oh...and Geno....the dork comment....it has nothing to do with you....it to...is all about economics...so don't go jumping off a basket and say.....why did you call me a dork !
lol @ Lumped in with them. I have never in my life voted just republican or just democratic. I do tend to vote Republican most of the time, but I listen to both parties. I don't like the hoyne groups tactics, but I don't like the way Linda and her band of Mary Men ( not that theres anything wrong with that) refuse to ever think that their way might be the wrong way. You know what I am, I'm frickin Switzerland or Pleasant Prarie.
Chistev.....if you tend to vote Republican most of the time...and at least in the last 30 years......you've been messing up. But I can't make you think the right way.....that's up to you. Did you vote for "W"............twice ?
HTC Your personal attacks cover the fact you have nothing constructive to say in response to my comment.
HTC. “Taxed too much and the rest of the Big 4 want a cheap place to live....I want a decent place to live.” Despite Chiovatero and Moore the conservative Council and BOE have elevated New Berlin to one of the highest rankings for “Best Places to Live” in the entire Country. Well, well, well your Progressive/Liberal pholosify mirrors Obama’s. “This is the best Country (City) in the world, help us change it.”
HTC “Bill Moore and our Mayor...these guys got it right.” No Poshepny! Which one of the “Who Cares-Take Back Our City for Special Interest Developers” comrads are you? Seems like you have abandoned Poshepny along with Richter and the previously mentioned gangstars.
Geez, you guys arent gonna leave ANY waffles in the trough in this one are ya? Stunned, I just hear a few things. She needs to fess up
You know....I just went to CNN Money.Com's list of the top 100 places to live....and we were not on it. I guess that means we suck as a place to live. If were not on the list....it must be true...we suck. So how do you explain that Taxed too much ?
http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2008/top100/index.html
Here is a better gauge to determine how our community is doing. When you drive your car down the road...is it like driving down a nice smooth pancake...or is it like driving down a pile of lava rocks ?
HTC, For you to say that I have been "messing up" with my voting record just goes to show that you liberals cannot ever have a conversation without throwing remarks out. Typical testaduta.
No....Chistev.......IknowawhatatheheckI'mtalkingabouta ! If you voted for "W" ......2Twice ! Dada wouda justa beena proofa....ifa youa voted fora hima twicea ! I know it's hard to defend voting for the guy twice....but ......that's your problem.
HTC, in such a mature, Christian and eloquent manner, continues to articulate the Liberal Machine p-o-v perfectly. Please, keep writing and hopefully, you are out on the street "selling" your candidates. You make it easier for the "Big 2/3rds" of New Berlin.
Who said I was Christian...see...you make a lot of assumptions Intrigued....wrong assumptions. You often speak of what you do not know of. Good luck to you with that !
Roads, "We are Moderates" and calling out Conservatives (like that is a bad thing)? That is the campaign theme the emerging mouthpiece (HTC) for the Chiovatero Liberal Machine (Take Back Our City PAC) is executing? And, for weeks you guys argued there isn't a Machine? That is the strategy? Led by Liberal cronies and hacks (old, defeated, embarrassed and bitter OLD Voted out of Office officials)? Cronies and hacks the Chiovatero Communications Wing repeatedly lambasts. Note prior Richter blogs attacking and defining cronies and hacks.
Hehehehehehehehhehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehhehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
See how the Liberal mind works? "Depends on what the meaning of is - is." You bore me with your predictability. Ms. Richter proudly wears her Christian values on her sleeve and you are an equal shill / mouthpiece; therefore, I lump you together.
Intrigued.....I've never met our Mayor....I just know a moderate person when I see one. You are not moderate, our Mayor is. I don't even have to meet you to see that. I'm sorry dude....but our city just does not need any more of your extreme right wingy types to be in charge any more. I know this bothers you because you have been in power....and you don't want that to come to an end....but I'm just looking for what's good for the average person here in New Berlin...rather then the elite few....like you.
Don't worry about Paul Gallagher--- you will never hear from him again, really.
Moderate? Back to Page 1 of the Liberal playbook I see. Moderates are - scared to admit they are Liberals - Liberals. But it doesn't work. Because Conservatism wins -everytime. Not Republicans and RINO's like Lazich, or even Bush 41 and 43 (and their spending and adopting Liberal initiatives - just to get along). Conservatism. Liberals are afraid of it, so they come up with other terms to define themselves. Proof of their character and conviction (sarcasm). They will even campaign as a conservative - and deny they are Liberals - as HTC is currently doing. They deny who they are and craft / manipulate / misdirect away from their failed strategies and their desire to tax and control. The only way it works is to demonize Conservatives. It doesn't work. Maybe a Republican or two can be demonized, but not a Conservative. Their lead label has been Moderate, but are shifting to Progressive, because the term Moderate has been exposed.
No one is a Moderate. Just "afraid to admit" Liberals.
The proof is in the action. Not the words and the chest pounding "look how great I am". Just notice the new Council candidate literature - supported by the Chiovatero Machine and the former voted out of office has-beens in TBOC- by 2/3rds vote.
had to comment, have you ever considered taking medication that could stifle the effects of your apparent overreactions? You may want to stop making fun of foreigners by typing sarcastic comments with a's after all the words. You sound disturbed.
Bassoon2: "Don't worry about Paul Gallagher--- you will never hear from him again, really."
Details please.
Sure seems like HTC wants to 'bury' the 62.68% comment Voice made above.
The Republicans here are like the majority in the Senate.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VOE6JRfDs8
They'll vote against policies they believe in.
Morons.
Benchmarking - and pointing to the Mayor as the beacon? The Mayor, who said / did (with Moore right along side of him), "we didn't tax you enough" and proposed 5 consecutive tax increases - most recently at 6%. But considered a raid of the Emergency Fund at $1,000,000 with a 3% tax increase acceptable - AND COVER UP a $800,000 short fall. And said, "it is only $25 bucks". But, not touch spending and programs?
And be quiet about the things a Mayor should be talking about such as, new water costs, deals with Milwaukee? (RTA tax), roads (LOL - but you brought it up) - only Calhoun because it was political and nothing on alternative cost cutting / revenue generating programs - BUT -
Rant about the taxes coming our way in 2010 and his salary not high enough (even though he has a $125,000 package, uncluding a SUV, on the taxpayers - in these tough times.)
That Mayor? Mayor Chiovatero. And Ald. Moore. And Poshepny, but you took care of him. Thank you. Just wanted to clear that up.
On Roads,
Roads are a key Liberal red herring. Tax and tax and say the $ goes to roads. However, in reality, the $ actually goes to the general fund and always seem to be allocated elsewhere. See Madison / Doyle over the last 8 years. Zoo Interchange anyone! In the meantime, claim all heck is breaking loose and if the roads aren't fixed, someone dies. That is the tactic. All roads are never completely up to future needs. Emphasis on ALL. Road work is a work in progress and most applicable cases come first. In the meantime DPW screams (wow, that is a shock - need more $ during the budget process) and the Liberals jump on board because it is a warm and emotional issue. Who can say they are anti-road? But, it never ends. "That road isn't re-surfaced. That road needs widening. That road needs a turn lane" and on and on - and tax and tax -forever - even for roads newly repaired, or enhanced. It is all about the money grab and then apply elsewhere and say, "I know the road needs work, but I didn't realize X was needed. Next time. I promise."
Since when did putting an "a" on the end of the word make that a word directed at foreigners ? Weird stuff you conservatives keep throwing out here. Where do you come up with this stuff...in someones basement ? You guys need to get out for the "fresh air".
Wow has the discussion veered off topic, so I’ll add a metaphor or 2 to the mix. Anyone catch last night’s New Berlin Committee of the Whole & Common Council meetings where the ref’s missed the attempted face mask grab and threw no penalty flag? Sad part is the voters of New Berlin- particularly those in Districts 1, 3 & 7 are likely to suffer the most.
Alderman Bill Moore wanted OUR – yes the taxpayers CITY HALL open for voter forums, an ordinance drafted and action taken by the Common Council at its next meeting and even conceded referral to the Communications Committee before hand, but as luck would have it – the opposing linemen plus the Council president felt that it was too short a time frame. Stand to reason this illustrious decision was made because of 3 of them face opposition in their aldermanic reelection bids, or maybe a mere coincidence? And guess what, did you know that District 1 Alderman John Hopkins chairs the Communications Committee, and surprise, surprise District 3 Alderman Ron Seidl’s also a member. Talk about wanting your cake and eating it too!
What happened to the good ole’ days where voters got a chance to hear first hand from ALL the candidates?
In fairness it was said by City Attorney that some legal changes would need to be made, but don’t you think, we as the taxpayers who pay all of their salaries are worth it? Residents need to demand action, or better yet, vote out those who put their own interests ahead of ours!
Resident. I am confused. Seems clear. You even stated it. "In fairness... legal changes would need to be made", clearly a need to address those who like to sue the City. i.e. your own "Take Back Our City" Chiovatero Liberal Machine.
An ordinace has to be drafted by the City Attorney taking this legal issue into account. And the protocols / time to follow leading to review - leading to a vote. This is accurate? What is the problem then?
By the way, there is no such thing as a flag / penalty for an ATTEMPTED face mask. Either it is a face mask, or isn't.
Great Super Bowl. Poll - was Manning's INT a bad pass, or should WR Wayne have beaten Porter to the spot? FYI -During the game, my Conservative buddies and I discussed how we don't know - or met - anyone like HTC.
FYI, added to the next New Berlin Communications Committee (amended 2/10/10 at 8:30 a.m.) meeting agenda, which will be held in Council Chambers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 is "FORUMS IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS". Remember, this Committee is NOT obligated by any time frame to take action, so the more concerned citizens who believe in democracy and free speech and want candidate forums BEFORE this upcoming election should make an effort to attend. If you cannot attend, email or call your alderperson and let them you know how important this issue is to you and all taxpayers.
Intrigued
From my recollection of the meeting, it was noted that there was some type of precedence for handling of requested RAS’s in the manner done by Alderman Moore given the importance and impact on the overall community. It was also remarked that using one rationale for turning our city’s website into a billboard, and another for denying citizens an opportunity to hear from candidates in forums at city hall was an inconsistency.
Resident: Interesting that Linda has not addressed this 'forum' issue.
Linda, would YOU like to respond to this issue so the public will know where the shoe got dropped on this issue? Tell your public why we don't have these election forums anymore.
PS At Tuesday's council meeting Ament indicated he had the info.
A New Berlin Voice:
Ament certainly is not the only one who has access to the info. (Suggesting otherwise might infer suppression of public information.) The 7th District Alderman also shook his head and made some arm gesture when making that comment – whatever that was suppose to mean/imply. Residents can review the minutes for themselves on our City’s website. Review the 5/17/06 Communications Committee minutes, the 5/23/06 & 6/13/06 Council minutes.
You appear to have a vendetta against this blog’s author, and only recently became a frequent poster of comments. Ms. Richter has addressed the lack of voter forums at City Hall numerous times.
She accurately pointed out in a 1/30/09 Post entitled: “Voter Forums in New Berlin”:
“Why aren’t the voters forums taking place at City Hall or broadcast on the City’s cable channel? In 2006, the New Berlin Common Council passed a resolution that established policies limiting the use of City Hall facilities to government units, thus barring citizen groups from using them. It put an end to voters forums at City Hall and use of the City cable channel to broadcast such forums. Alderman Harenda made the motion to approve it. It passed 4-3 with Aldermen Harenda, Ament, Hopkins and Gallagher voting yes (Aldermen Moore, Augustine and Hegeman voted no) Those awful exclusionary policies remain in effect. “ A copy of Resolution No. 06-11 adopted by the Council on 6/13/06 is also located on the New Berlin website.
Seems like time has obscurred the facts that Ament voted for the ban and that Harenda was chairman of that committee and negotiated the terms of the ban with the city attorney.
Resident. You seem to have a very good recollection of the history of Richter’s blog but you apparently did not pay attention to the discussions in 2006 about this very issue and apparently were not paying attention to what was discussed at Tuesday’s Council meeting. You need to pay attention to what is actually happening rather then following Richter’s distorted and one sided reports. This would explain why you have been echoing Richter’s position.
HTC, Paint Chips? That would be my guess. Thanks for ripping on my Italian Heritage.
Resident. “The 7th District Alderman also shook his head and made some arm gesture when making that comment – whatever that was suppose to mean/imply.” So you did see the meeting!
Then you should know why the majority of the Council voted the way they did in 2006. It was based on the advise of the City Attorney that the current policy was addopted. You are implying that Hopkins, Wysocki, Seidl, Harenda and Ament should make their decisions based on the legal advise of alderman Moore rather then the City Attorney.
Richter is very good at twisting what is going on to serve the agenda of Who Cares and Wilkens’ Take Back Our City for Special Interest Developers. Unfortunately you are falling into the same trap. Why isn’t Richter commenting on how alderman Moore is ignoring the legal advice of the City Attorney? Why isn’t she pointing out that once again Poshepny is getting his legal advice from Moore?
Time to get more serious. The Liberal “Take Back Our City” Machine constant claim that their side may be just short of virginal and all others want to harm, kill and maim our children and elderly. Then they claim there really isn’t a side, but “we are good and care givers and Christians and have the best interests of NB to heart” – but, you guys are evil. Liberals will say that there really isn’t a liberal / conservative issue, just good and bad people and local politics is non-partisan. Why is this?
Thoughts, beliefs and agendas that rule Washington and Madison don’t happen in New Berlin? Really? Career politicians and the constant inbreeding (Democrats and Republicans) cause partisanship because of their need to protect their paycheck and quest for power/control. Our founding fathers never intended politics to be a career. One was to apply their career experiences to public service. This core belief has been turned upside down in all levels of government and dominates the culture and governance in Washington, Madison and even New Berlin. If a politician does leave office, it is to join a business (lobbying, law, development and finance typically) that is dependent upon government (bigger $) and they go back and forth. Investing in each other. Inbreeding. Helping each other get elected, or secure appointments and funding. To keep the money train flowing. To maintain their paycheck / packages. Not happening in New Berlin?
Sorry Chistev....but I wasn't thinking about your heritage or anybody elses in any of my comments. There was no heritage factor taken into account in the comment. I love Italian's especially the food. And maybe I'm Italian ?
Actually tossing the "a's" in there was from my pig latin days. Maybe the pigs are offended ? If so ....my apologies to the pigs.
Interesting why the Liberals spend a great deal of time attacking select Council members who all have careers, but have dedicated a substantial part of their lives (and families) to public service. With a great deal of exposure. However, never touch the Mayor, who, is full time and quite frankly, looks like he needs the job. Not wants it. Needs it. When has he had a $125,000 package before? When has anyone? Could this be replaced if he left office today? Wasn’t he a home inspector / appraiser? Tough market and I am sure he didn’t have a $125,000 package in the good days. Isn’t this a fair question? Doesn’t it speak to motivation and potential governance? His need for the job doesn’t create interesting bedfellows? Not happening in New Berlin?
It is cited by the Liberal Machine that the Mayor is 2 term and won re-election convincingly. That it is now Chiovatero’s time and he needs to govern and he is pure and insulated from all cronies and hacks and partisanship. He is all knowing and all being. Let him govern his way is the Liberal battle cry. All others on Council (except for Moore) should go. It is intriguing that the Mayor avoids the scrutiny by the Liberal Machine when it comes to his own long standing tenure – Alderman and Mayor – exceeding most of those on Council – but Council – just the 5 – are the hacks. It is intriguing that the Mayor is the Mayor, but Council is deemed more powerful by the Libs. And it is intriguing that the Liberal Machine fails to mention that after all the help and money to get re-elected, the Mayor ONLY received 49% of the vote in last year’s primary. More than half of those who voted, did not vote for the Mayor? A mandate? Maybe he was re-elected because times were good and safe and many didn’t really care and all seemed good. The Liberal / Take Back Machine sees it as a mandate to govern in their way and all others need to move aside. Not happening in New Berlin?
Let the Mayor have what he wants is the Lib battle cry. But, he isn’t a Lib. He is a moderate (LOL). When do Liberals NOT support Liberals? We are to believe folks like Ms. Richter and Take Back support a non Liberal? We are to believe folks like Ms. Richter are not a Liberal? Folks who eagerly support new taxes, expansion of government, referendums and not touch spending supports someone who is not for these things. Is this what is headed our way if the Mayor secures the Council control he wants – by handpicking candidates opposed to the Council members who have blocked the Mayor over the years? Maybe the 5 on Council have been fighting and protecting us all along. But, the Mayor is pure and a non-hack? Remember, it is the Mayor (and Moore and Poshepny) who proposed tax increases each year, are clearly beholden to some and has been quoted, “should have taxed you more in the good years”. Not happening in New Berlin?
Now the Take Back group is identified. Intriguing. The Libs scream from the mountain tops that there isn’t any Machine or organized effort, but then the Take Back group comes out. Amazing the hubris and ego. And disclose themselves as former elected officials. Mayors, Aldermen and City Attorney. Not a Machine? They have been rejected and lost big and some were too afraid to run, but they know what is best? 2/3rds of New Berlin were too stupid to reject them (95% in Ms. Richet’s case)? “Have to get back in because we are too smart and the rest of THEM are too stupid?” More core Liberalism. Let’s connect some dots. Previously, I stated that a huge problem with government are career politicians / professionals dependent upon government – that run government and spend OUR money. And the inbreeding and cronyism that is created. With the result being a substantial amount of tax payer dollars changing hands in the form of salary, projects and funding – among the same group. Not happening in New Berlin?
Why did these former politicians organize and come forward and invest so much into the Mayor’s re-election and new Council candidates? Why? New Berlin pride? And why has the Mayor and the new candidates been so eager to take their support? Including the famously Liberal communicator – Linda Richter and her crew? We are to believe they will govern with an independent voice? Any quid pro quo? Not happening in New Berlin?
Follow the money folks. Look at the contributors to the Mayor and the new candidates and track back and forth from the Liberal Take Back Machine? Again, they are going to be independent? The Mayor is on record that he supports tax increases and expansion of government and not control spending and is upset that the 5 on Council that blocks his tax increases. And he is supported / controlled by some the region’s most famous Liberals. Not happening in New Berlin? Let’s take it back alright. Time to look at what / who are represented by various folks involved in Take Back and what is the connection with City Hall? Jobs, appointments, projects and $. Not happening in New Berlin?
Here is a start – the City Center has always bugged me. And now it is a white elephant. And now, developers are coming forward with new concepts and ideas – mainly to dummy down the original concept. But, at least it is something - right? Who is involved in the City Center and how did that start again? Hmmmm! Maybe it is time to compare and contrast developer / business associate interests, investment, campaign contributions, relationships and landowner status and see if any dots can be connected. Not happening in New Berlin? Ms. Richter, do you want to take this research project?
Resident: Voice is well aware of what Linda 'has said' about this issue and what she 'has not said'. Others, in recent blogs, have stated there were 'certain circumstances' which caused the outting of the forums. Linda knows the 'why' (and who precipitated this issue, etc) but she won't comment and, as usual, she continues her non-accountability.
You state it appears Voice has a vendetta against Linda - not Linda per se, rather her continued non-accountability to the people in New Berlin. This issue is, again, a perfect example of her non-accountability by only stating 1/2 of the story.
Resident, you also suggested Ament was suppressing public information. In Voices opinion, Ament indicated he had with him the 'history' on this issue and was prepared to present that history to show why New Berlin does not allow forum but he was not given the opportunity to do so. Why don't you contact him and ask him for this history as it is quite clear Linda chooses not to disclose.
As someone else mentioned, council followed legal advice given by the city attorney. Council was not happy about removing these forums but followed legal advice. Here's a quote from Ament that appeared in the Milwaukee Journal at that time wherein he stated opposition to removing the forums:
"There's never been an issue about this until now. We're talking on something that people really get a lot out of, and we're going to take this off the air."
Isn't it sad that 'certain persons' raised 'certain issues' and the public lost out?
And Linda won't comment - doesn't that make you wonder what she really knows about this topic?
"Ament certainly is not the only one who has access to the info. (Suggesting otherwise might infer suppression of public information.)" Those were my words, and again you attempt to manipulate them. It's your standard pattern whenever a person expresses a contrary opinion to yours.
Resident: Voice suggested you contact Ament to see what information he wanted to present. Sorry, Voice sees no manipulation there.
