Gov. Walker, School District Accountability, and Me
During his speech at a July 26 educational conference, (Gov.) “Walker focused on transparency as the way to hold schools and school districts accountable. The more information available, the better, he said.”---reported the Journal Sentinel newspaper ( See newspaper report Walker touts school reform).
OK. Let’s apply that to the New Berlin School District---
Mr. Obama's Gaffes Actually Do Harm
In 2010 President Obama said "the true engine of economic growth will always be companies like Solyndra."
Kate Adams and Rachel Slobodien of the Heritage Foundation compiled a list of Mr. Obama's economic growth investments and they have listed 12 members of what they call their "Green-Gravyard." These are the so-called green industries that were to promote energy savings and efficiency - all bought and paid for with our tax dollars.
Stop Elder Abuse!
Some have called elder abuse "the crime of the century.” We hear about the exploitation of the elderly every day. It affects them in many ways–financially, physically, and emotionally. It can be while in the care of a nursing home or retirement home, or even the privacy of their own homes. It is a shame, yet it’s a reality and now, I can personally attest to this as I recently witnessed it happen with my own aunt.
My aunt lost her son and husband of 49 years just four weeks apart. This left her alone, vulnerable and overwhelmed. Suddenly she had to take care of everything on her own while still coping with her recent losses. Family and friends that live nearby helped whenever they could– yet with work and their own families, it’s not possible to be there 24–7. My aunt is self-sufficient and has a healthy mind, but physical ailments require a little extra help from time to time. For example: she hired a “friend of a friend” to help clean her house. My aunt needed help and the friend was down on her luck, struggling to take care of three children, so it was beneficial to both. What a perfect situation! My aunt trusted this person and wanted to help her out. Never once did she think this friend would take advantage of her.
Canine Play, Play, PLAY with Dr. Patricia McConnell!
On Thursday, August 16, at 6:30pm, don't miss the opportunity to join Patricia McConnell at HAWS for an evening talk on Canine Play! Play! Play!
Play is fun, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s just goofy or frivolous! Play is powerful stuff, and it has a profound influence on your relationship with your dog. Learn how play can enhance your relationship with your dog, improve your dog’s responsiveness and provide your dog with the mental and physical exercise they need. We’ll talk about up-to-date research on how to tell your dog you want to play (most of us aren’t very good at it!), some charming tricks and games to wow your friends, and most importantly, how NOT to play with your dog. If you'd like a happier, more responsive dog and a closer relationship with each other, then this talk is for you.
The registration fee is $40.00. Pre-registration is required and is available online or by contacting Khris Erickson, HAWS' Humane Educator, at 262-542-8851, x118.

Hate, Bigotry and Lethal Attacks By Right-wing Extremists
“ The word ‘terrorism’ in the United States usually brings to mind plots linked in some way to al Qaeda, while the danger posed to the public by white supremacists, anti-abortion extremists and other right-wing militants is often overlooked,” cautions an August 7 CNN report.
It informs us: “Militants linked to al Qaeda or inspired by jihadist ideology have carried out four terrorist attacks in the United States since September 11, which have resulted in 17 deaths. Thirteen of them were in a shooting incident at Fort Hood, Texas, in November 2009. By contrast, right-wing extremists have committed at least eight lethal terrorist attacks in the United States that have resulted in the deaths of nine people since 9/11, according to data compiled by the New America Foundation. And if, after investigation, Sunday's attack on the Sikh temple in Wisconsin is included in this count, the death toll from right-wing terrorism in the U.S. over the past decade rises to 15.”
WMDs in USA
Let's not kid ourselves. We've got weapons of mass destruction aplenty in this country. I'm talking about guns.
In Tuscon, Arizona on January 8, 2011, six people were killed ( including a federal judge and a 9 year old child) and 13 were injured, including a U.S. Congressman (Rep. Gabrielle Giffords), when a gunman armed with a semiautomatic weapon opened fire at a meet-and-greet with Rep. Giffords outside a shopping center .

Trust Romney and Ryan? No Way.
Mitt Romney’s father, George Romney released 12 years of tax returns when he ran for President.
George Romney chose to release more than one year of tax returns because releasing a single return wouldn't prove anything, he told Look magazine's senior editor. It could be a fluke, or even a cynical manipulation designed to make the candidate look good. What really mattered was how a candidate managed his personal finances over the long haul. ( See CNN Money report )
Ryan Didn't Know That? His Startling Admission Regarding Mitt Romney's Budget Plan
When interviewed by Fox News’ Britt Hume last Tuesday, Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan was asked when the Romney budget plan would balance the nation’s budget. Ryan first tried to evade the question, but when pressed admitted that he didn’t know, “We haven’t run the numbers”.
What?!!!
Hate and Chains
Liberals ask should we trust Romney and Ryan? They then answer "no." Why? Because Romney hasn't presented them with past income tax returns of his. They conclude Romney finds it more important to let McCain know of his tax returns than the American people and is the meat of this rant. Really? Why? For all practical purposes nothing is gained if we knew all of his returns for all of his working life.
The reason the Obama administration wants to cling to this harrange is that they, the administration now in office, has nothing to offer the American people. Nothing that would cause them to vote him back into office for another term. The majority voter recognizes this ploy as the Obama Envy and Pride unit from the Saul Alinsky playbook Obama follows.

Akin Sensation: Rape, Radical Rhetoric, Republican Party & Romney/Ryan
U.S. Senate candidate, Rep. Todd Akin (R-Missouri), made incredibly inflammatory , offensive and ignorant remarks Sunday on a TV show. He caused an uproar by claiming victims of “legitimate” rape rarely get pregnant because “the female body has ways to shut that whole thing down.”
According to Terry O’Neill, President of the National Organization for Women, “That kind of rhetoric re-traumatizes sexual assault victims. “ She also believes that kind of talk is intended to shame women.
NB District Debt & A Dire Financial Forecast Re: Wis. School Districts
Earlier this month (Journal Sentinel, Aug. 11), education commentator Alan J. Borsuk warned that big financial problems loom for “fairly normal” school districts in Wisconsin.
Borsuk, a senior fellow in law and public policy at Marquette University Law School, stresses that the changes wrought by Gov. Scott Walker and Republicans in the Legislature sharply reduced how much schools have available to spend per student.
