Current Events vs. Founding Documents

This column presents facts regarding the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Paine's book Common Sense, the Wisconsin State Constitution, and various other documents in reference to modern topics. Mark hopes to encourage interest in those works so that others can consider whether our government is practicing within its constitutional limits. In the last category, he may indicate his opinion. Mark is a resident of New Berlin and a member of Wisconsin GrandSons of Liberty. Visitors are encouraged to visit the following sites for more information on the United States Constitution and Thomas Jefferson's views on politics and government.

 Bob Basso; aka Thomas Paine

• Motivational Speaker, historian, and actor.

• Mr. Bob Basso a.k.a. You Tubes “Thomas Paine”, will do a history lesson and present an inspiring speech.

 Honorable Randy R. Koschnick, Jefferson County Circuit Court

• Constitutionalist and Judge.

• Judge Koschnick will discuss the State Constitution and how it works with the Federal Constitution.

 Dr. Kevin Gutzman

• Author, “The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution”.

• An American historian and Constitutional scholar.

• Associate professor of the Department of History and Non-Western Cultures at Western Connecticut State University.

• An outspoken critic of the excessive power of the Supreme Court.

 and Tim Dake

• A founding member of the Wisconsin GrandSons of Liberty

• Presentation of a proposed amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution allowing Wisconsin to opt out from government run healthcare and ensuring Wisconsinites right to access private health care.
