Observations
Ray McInerny, Sr., and his wife Jean, have lived in New Berlin for 32 years. A retired graphic artist, he now paints for his own enjoyment. This blog will attempt to present items of general interest to his New Berlin neighbors.
How low can he go?
As a serviceman in World War II I was proud to wear my uniform as a Marine. Many others had the same pride for their branch of service. In an attempt to belittle the acheivement of so many great Americans (particularly those that were/are in the heat of battle), our current occupant of the White House dons a Oriental-type suit and bows to the Emperor of Japan. What a disgusting display of politcal correctness, naivete and childish disdain for our Military and country.
Similar to the bow Obama extended to the Saudi King not too long ago he uses these rituals in expiation for the sins of America - according to Obama. He displays a contempt for our American culture and history. This is his style of hope and change.
President Obama, through his Attorney General, seeks a trial for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's fate in New York City. Every bit of intelligence gathering; techniques for extracting information in detention camps; the work of the F.B.I., C.I. A., and military personnel working to seek justice will be compromised. All that these agencies have worked for and gained will be known to the entire world. And, Mohammed could possibly end up going free because of this action!
"At the trial of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers, prosecutors were made to turn over to defense attorneys a substantial amount of intel information. Documents from that discovery production, which were never supposed to be given to anyone outside the defense team, were later found in an al-Queda hideout." James Galjean, 3rd Congressional District Candidate, South Carolina
When an American assumes the office of President of the United States, and before the execution of office he takes the following Oath or Affirmation:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
After rushing his judgement to condemn police action in Cambridge involving a friend of the president, Obama tells Congress he opposes an investigation into the Fort Hood massacre. "Resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into political theater." Yet his intended prosecution of Mohammed in New York could result in a Bush administration policy trial. This political theater of the Obama adminstration can put the victim (our government) on trial. Is the underlying reason to indict the Bush administration? He'll be putting the whole country on trial with this fiasco.
Obama runs around the world as if he's a man without a country. Constantly disparaging the founders of this great nation, and the fanatastic Constitution they created: apologizing for the greatest nation God allowed to be created: the most generous nation on earth; a nation that has produced some of the most glorious wonders of the Planet; the seat of many Universities and Colleges, the envy of the world; a nation with the best health care system in the world; our capacity to love and care for our fellow men during tragedies is unprecedented. Yet, Obama can find not much good in us.
When I bow, it will be to my fellow Americans who make this country great. Who will preserve, protect and defend the Constitution if you and I don't?

Just read threw the foxnews story. According to plan, apparently, these poor down-trodden waifs who love to roam the world killing innocent bystanders will be given full stage to spew their venom against our country. We may disagree with some of our legislators, presidents, etc. but to let these criminals of the international scene have rights to fully vent their spleen is sickening. But wait! Barry says they are guilty and will be punished. Another case of pre-judgement before all the facts are in. It's a wonderful life, but we have to have thick skins. whew!

Taxed too much...mostly ripping on Ray for being unfair and ridiculous. Negative is fine....just don't be ridiculous and biased about it. He just doesn't like Obama and will print anything to make the guy appear to be something he is not....kind of what like you do.

Ray & Mark, how can you have such little faith in our American judicial system, not to mention the citizens of NYC who lost family and friends on that terrible day. Kalid Sheikh Mohammed committed his heinous actions in NYC; the people of NYC are entitled to dispense justice. I have every confidence that they will make the right decision.

Ray, your comments are well taken. The al-qaeda terrorists are warriors without a country. There would be no difference between them who destroyed the twin towers and the Kamikaze pilots who were convinced they would go to heaven when they bombed Pearl Harbor. Bringing those who planned their attacks to a world stage in New York where they can shout immortal inspirations of martyrdom to their followers would yield nothing positive for justice or America. These guys confessed and asked to be executed. Their fate is already sealed. Just like in the OJ Simpson trial in which the police officers were put on trial for their tactics and motives along with the accused, this only sets the stage for the defense attorneys to put the American military on trial.

geno....Obama's accomplishments....we are not mired in a depression yet. Health care reform looks like it's happening. The Iraq involvement is winding down as scheduled. The US reputation throughout the world as a member rather then a dictator is being restored. We're no longer advocating the use of open torture as an acceptable way to operate our country.
We are moving forward in the sciences instead of backwards. We are pushing forward with the idea of getting ourselves off our dependence on foreign oil and into wind, solar and other energies that will free us from control by the Middle East. Hopefully we are going to get some rights for people who are gay. I'd imagine I could go on and on....he's doing a lot...and they are things that will really benefit this country in the long run. He will be one of the greatest Presidents we ever had and he will do it during a time of great economic stress. A hall of famer most likely. How's that geno !

Geno, I don't know what your point is...or did you just want to make your point that you don't think Obama has done anything...just one more time. Personally I think he has done a lot and will do a lot more, so sorry, I will continue to disagree with you.
