A Prayer for Service Personnel

Prayer for Those in the Service

Almighty God, we stand before you asking for your divine mercy and protection

Embrace with your invincible armour our loved ones in all branches of the service

Give them courage and strength against all enemies both spiritual and physical and hasten their safe journey back to their homes and familes. Amen

With heavy hearts we've all heard of the insane act by a suposedly deranged person; a Major in the Army no less, who killed twelve and injured thrity-one men and women at Fort Hood, Texas.

Our prayers are extended to the famlies of the victims. The difficulty of knowing your loved ones who volunteered to protect their country has a life snuffed out before ever seeing any enemy action is heavy on the hearts of family members..

In a free and open society such as the USA which the majority of us wouldn't trade for any other type of government/society things hard to explain happen once in a while. We don't have the ability to understand what happened at Fort Hood. Situations like that happen. it began with Cain and Abel and all the talking heads won't give us the answer. It may not be ours to know.

Let's pray hard for all our service personnel and remember them, along with their veterans from other wars and skirmishes this coming Veteran's Day, November 11, 2009.

God bless America!
