Boy Scout Great Lakes Centennial Jamboree on September 25,26,27

The Experimental Aircraft Association will be the site of the 12 Boy Scout Councils of Wisconin, Michigan and Illinois 100th anniversary Jamboree. The dates are September, 25, 26 and 27, 2009.

More than 7000 scouts are registered to attend the event which will feature events as Archery, Barrel Riding, Obstacle Challenge Course, Canoeing, Climbing Towers, Geocaching, Kayaking, Pumpkin Chucking, and a Punt , Pass & Kick Competition

Demonstrations include, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Law Enforcement Agencies, Military Vehicles, Radio Controlled Planes, Robotics w hands on Action, Great Stage Show featuring the Group, Special Speakers and Guests , Miss Wisconsin, Guitar Hero Competition

This event is designed to give Scouts who are not able to attend the Boy Scouts National Jamboree at Fort A.P Hill , Virginia, a Jamboree Style Experience.

Scouts and others who wish to attend the GLCJ event are invited to attend on Saturday. Admission is $10 per person, payable at the gate. This does not include admission to the EAA museum.

Scouts attending should wear their Scout Uniform to show unity with all Scouts in attendance.  Fairground type food will be available.

The  Boy Scout National Centennial Jamboree will be held July 26 to August 4, 2010 will be attended by 42,000 Scouts and Leaders.

Fort A. P Hill is named after the famous Confederate General Ambrose Powell Hill who was killed in action a week before General Robert E Lee surrendered to federal General U S Grant. The Fort consists of over 76,000 acres and is an United States Army Training Center
