CCNB & GAB
As was previously reported, the political group Concerned Citizens of New Berlin (CCNB) failed in its efforts to recall Mayor Jack Chiovatero and Alderman Bill Moore.
CCNB registered with the City Clerk as a Recall Committee in late June. It needed 4,821 signatures to force a recall of the mayor and 683 signatures to force a recall of Ald. Moore.
A Get Well Message
The first day of school (School District of New Berlin) was last Wednesday.
When I called the New Berlin School District Office that day to arrange a meeting with Superintendent Paul Kreutzer, I was informed that he was on an extended sick leave and would contact me when he returns.
Happy Grandparents Day!
Today is Grandparents Day.
According to the National Grandparents Day Council’s Web site (grandparents-day.com), the purpose of Grandparents Day is:
- To honor grandparents
- To give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children’s children
- To help children become aware of the strength, information and guidance older people can offer.

New Berlin Polling Places in today's Primary Election RecountTheJournal Sentinel informs us that John Marek requested a recount following unofficial results showed him behind Mike Kuglitsch by 173 votes out of 8,819 cast in the recent 84th Assembly Primary Election. The Government Accountability Board (GAB) staff reviewed Marek's petition, evidently determined the petition was sufficient and the required fee ---$5 per ward as required by Statute (totaling $245) was paid. No NB BOE Meeting Tonight Because of NFL GameAlthough the New Berlin School Board usually holds its regular meetings on Monday nights, it has chosen to hold its Regular Board of Education meeting tomorrow night instead (Tuesday, September 28) expressly because of tonight’s scheduled/televised NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. The BOE meeting will be in the New Berlin West Middle-High School library. The address is 18695 W. Cleveland Ave, New Berlin. By the way, City of New Berlin Common Council meetings typically are held on Tuesday nights and the next one is scheduled for Tuesday, September 28. As usual, the meeting will be in the City Hall Council Chambers. The address is 3805 S. Casper Drive, New Berlin. Results Are InToday’s newspaper reports that the recount held in the state primary race (Republican) for the 84th Assembly District did not change the original results. New Berlin resident Mike Kuglitsch is the winner. Kuglitsch had 4,496 votes and John Marek had 4,323. |
