Senator Mary Lazich Statement Applauding the Wisconsin State Senate’s Approval of the 2013-2015 Wisconsin State Budget:
The 2013-2015 Wisconsin state budget provides for crucial programs in the state, ensures the state stays on the path of recovery, and delivers meaningful tax relief to every taxpayer. The budget guarantees a healthy financial foundation that is necessary to ensure continued growth of the state’s economy.
Education is the foundation to the economy. The budget includes a $150 per pupil increase during each of the next two years for public K-12 education. The budget increases charter school funding, expands parental choice across the state, provides $30 million in tax deductions to assist parents with private school tuition, and freezes UW tuition.
The 2013-2015 budget includes over $650 million of income tax reductions that will go directly into the pockets of every Wisconsin taxpayer.
The budget keeps Wisconsin open for business and on the right track.
