Long-range Facilities Plan Information

As previewed in the September 2012 issue of the District Digest and presented at the district’s Budget Hearing on September 24, the School District of New Berlin is currently developing a Long-range Facilities Plan. The Board of Education began the process of determining the scope of the plan at its October 22, 2012 meeting.

SDNB anticipates a thorough review of needs, plans and financing options to be considered over the course of the fiscal year.

On November 12, the Board of Education made the following commitments for continued development of the Long-range Facilities Plan:

  • The district will continue to operate with its current elementary (grades K-6) and middle/high school (grades 7-12) model, and will continue to have two middle/high schools.
  • There is no anticipated change in programming; the district will maintain two comprehensive middle/high schools.
  • The administration shall not present a facility plan without presenting a funding plan.
  • Renovations will be planned and staggered to ensure, when practical and possible, unnecessary need to update code changes.
