Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Warn of Online Escrow Scams

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is warning consumers about recent postings on Craigslist for a boat for sale in Wisconsin.  When an inquiry is made about the boat, the seller asks that the money to buy the boat be put into an escrow account.  Soon after the buyer deposits the money into the account the payment is moved to an account out of state, the seller does not return phone calls or emails and a boat is not delivered.  Here is DATCP’s warning about the internet hoax: 11.09.12_CA.CraigslistEscrowScams.pdf

Governor Walker Leave Insurance Exchanges to Feds

Governor Walker’s decision to defer to the federal government’s insurance exchange takes the burden off of Wisconsin taxpayers who would otherwise pay for a system that they cannot control.  In the past, many Americans including myself have voiced the opinion that the healthcare law is unconstitutional because it forces Americans to buy a product or service.  However, the US Supreme Court upheld the law.  Moving forward, I will continue to do all I can to protect the taxpayers of Wisconsin and be a voice for the hardworking individuals of the 28th district.
