On November 26, theSchool District of New Berlin Board of Education unanimously approved a one-time payment for many SDNB employees in recognition of their work toward the district’s goals, projects and initiatives.
Outside the collective bargaining process, an administrative recommendation was made that kept with the Board’s previous commitment to provide a 1.64% increase for the 2011-12 school year, and added 1.86% for the 2012-13 school year.
Those who will receive the payment are current teachers, specialists, librarians, psychologists, counselors, therapists and special education paraprofessionals who worked for SDNB prior to 2012-13. Payments are expected to be issued early in 2013.
“We value our employees and greatly appreciate their hard work and dedication to our students,” said Board of Education President David Maxey.
“This compensation rewards them for their service while also taking into consideration the increasing cost of living,” said Vice President Tom David.
The Board noted that the district is currently developing a long-term strategic compensation plan to align with the district vision. This plan will be designed to recruit, retain and reward employees, and will inform future compensation decisions.
