Conservatively Speaking
State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.
DOT Open House August 28, 2012, Highway 100 Reconstruction
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) scheduled an open house discussion about Highway 100 reconstruction from St. Martins Road to College Avenue.

Interested persons may view exhibits displaying pertinent information, provide comments about the construction and meet individually with project staff representing DOT.
The Highway100 reconstruction project is scheduled for 2018 and proposes the following:
- From St. Martins Road to Drexel Avenue: the existing two-lane undivided rural roadway be expanded to a four-lane divided urban roadway with medians and curb/gutter
- From Drexel Avenue to just north of Rawson Avenue: the existing four-lane roadway will be expanded to six lanes with medians and curb/gutter
- From Rawson Avenue to College Avenue: the six-lane section will be reconstructed as six lanes with pedestrian and bicycle accommodations
