Committee Begins Work On Sex Offender Laws
Yesterday was the first meeting of the Wisconsin Legislative Council Special Committee on Supervised Release and Discharge of Sexually Violent Persons. We are directed by the Joint Legislative Council to review the current process for granting supervised release and discharging persons committed as sexually violent persons under Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 980.
For years I have fought to keep our communiities, particularly Franklin, safe from sex offenders. I look forward to continuing that mission and am pleased to be joined on the committee by Waukesha County Judge Michael Bohren, Retired Milwaukee Court Commissioner Frank Liska, Franklin Chief of Police Rick Oliva, and Shari Hanneman, a Franklin resident representing Citizens for a Safe Wisconsin.
