The New Berlin Lions Club Serving Up Corn for a Great Cause at the Wisconsin State Fair August 2 through 12, 2012
Wisconsin State Fair preparations are in their final days. Deliveries are taking place and the grounds are filling with supplies and beginning to hum with activity.
Last night was prep night at the New Berlin Lions Club Corn Roast stand. Cleaning took place, the cookers were fired up, and workers participated in the ceremonial first taste of corn. The delicious taste of the corn delighted workers.
At the Wisconsin State Fair, August 2 through August 12, 2012, the New Berlin Lions Club stand will dunk corn into melted butter over 100,000 times with all proceeds going to great causes. New Berlin Lions members work a half dozen or more shifts and New Berlin Lionesses members work five or more shifts assisted by volunteers from all walks of life, including students, and numerous other clubs and organizations. There are amazing labor, production, and results that take place over the 11 days of the Fair.
The New Berlin Lioness Club provides soda products and water from two gazebos that flank the two ends of the corn sales area. All soda booth proceeds go to charitable causes.
Serving as a New Berlin Lioness member for many years, I enjoy the camaraderie and charitable benefits the clubs provide.
Please visit the corn roast stand and enjoy delicious tasting corn and a beverage. The popular New Berlin Lions Club Corn Roast Stand is located at the corner of Central Avenue and Second Street.
