GOP Bloopers
On Tuesday night (5-8-12), the Republican Party of Wisconsin emailed a statement saying Democrats were still divided after the primary by choosing Tom Barrett.
But as the Associated Press points out, that message was emailed 30 minutes before the polls closed—and no election results are known until at least 8 p.m.—yet the release came at 7:30 p.m. !!!!
Also, per WisPolitics:
In a press release that was issued Tuesday about the Wisconsin Primary, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus encourages people to vote for Gov. Walker on June 6.
Hmmm. He got the date wrong. The Recall Election is on Tuesday, June 5.
But hey, these kind of blunders are preferable to the snafus we’ve experienced in past elections that had been supervised by Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus.
