Republican State Senator Proposes Legislation to Blame Single Parents for Child Abuse
"Wisconsin State Senator Glenn Grothman, the Assistant Majority Leader and a close ally of GOP Governor Scott Walker in the effort to destroy collective bargaining in the Badger State, is taking crazy to new levels.
Grothman has introduced a bill that would require the State of Wisconsin to officially deem single parenthood to be a “contributor” to child abuse and neglect and to put the same into statutory laws of the state.
Walker's Legal Defense Fund
Last month, Gov. Scott Walker admitted that prosecutors initiated the meeting they will have with him as part of the John Doe investigation about activities that occurred during Walker's tenure as Milwaukee County executive. Walker announced that he’d hired two criminal defense lawyers--—Michael Steinle of Milwaukee and John Gallo of Chicago—to represent him. According to the Milwauke Journal Sentinel news report, Walker did not disclose how he’d pay for the attorneys, other than indicate it wouldn’t be with tax dollars.
Well, yesterday ( Friday, March 9), Walker said he has set up a legal defense fund to pay for the attorneys.

On January 9, the District of New Berlin’s School Board voted unanimously to close Glen Park Elementary School. Art Marquardt’s motion also “directed management to continue planning for elementary boundary changes and other required operating changes immediately. “
So, the District had been planning boundary changes even before the Board voted to close Glen Park.
