Helping Vets: Ride For The National Veterans Wheelchair Games & Fundraiser

A three-county motorcycle ride with County Executives and Sheriffs to benefit vets will take place on Saturday, June 12, 2010. The ride is limited to 100 motorcycles.

This Ride for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games  starts (8 am) and ends at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Whitnall Park. The cost is $45 single and $80 double (2 people on one bike)

Did you see our procession of motorcycles last Saturday morning?

I hope so, because the Fifth Annual Ride For The National Veterans Wheelchair Games was a sight to behold, with its awesome law-enforcement escort, American Legion bikers, large flags, six motorcycle sidecars carrying disabled veterans, and the bevy of other veterans and non-veterans who participated in the ride on motorcycles or in cars.

Stormy Weather

Mother Nature put on quite a show yesterday, the first day of summer. 

According to JS Online, a tornado was reported near Hales Corners at 9:48 p.m. and an earlier twister in Eagle flattened six houses, caused other damage, and some minor injuries.  Also: Due to the storm, more  than 40,000 We Energies customers were without electrical power, mainly in Waukesha, Racine, Milwaukee and Jefferson counties.
