Conservatively Speaking

Union threats unacceptable
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that union leaders in southeast Wisconsin are threatening to boycott local businesses that do not display a pro-union sign in their windows.According to the Journal Sentinel, a letter to businesses explains that not displaying a sign "will leave us no choice but (to) do a public boycott of your business. And sorry, neutral means 'no' to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members." Capitol chaos was not enough. The union leaders are on an all out assault to keep their jobs. This is not about union workers. This is about union leaders keeping their six-digit jobs. Apparently, union bosses find their own power more important than community cohesion, and the jobs of workers at community businesses.
This playground bullying method by union leaders to strong-arm local businesses is disgusting. Threatening business owners simply for refusing to display a sign shows union bosses’ true priorities.
Just because a business owner does not sip the Kool-Aid of the union bosses, their livelihood is threatened.
This type of bullying behavior is astonishing. It is unfortunate that union members are required to fund these types of actions and the six digit salaries of the union leaders pulling the strings.
Quite frankly, why did the union leaders only fight for collective bargaining rights, and not fight for the individual sacrifice union members must make to contribute to pension and insurance payments? Seemingly, the only thing collective bargaining does is keep union leaders employed.
Discussions and lively debate about the current legislation is healthy. This union boss thug behavior is despicable!
