State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.

Congratulations to Chief Robert Dams

Saturday January 15, 2011, was the retirement party for Greendale Police Chief Robert Dams's.   

I presented a citation to Chief Dams to commemorate 38 years of service to the Village of Greendale. It reads:

WHEREAS, Robert J. Dams, Jr. is retiring from the Greendale Police Department following 38 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Robert J. Dams, Jr. began employment with the Greendale Police Department during June 1973, and served as clerk-dispatcher, police officer, Detective Sergeant, Detective Lieutenant, Captain, and Chief of Police; and

WHEREAS, Robert J. Dams Jr. received the Outstanding Police Officer of the Year, Law and Order Award from the State of Wisconsin American Legion Post, Outstanding Police Officer of the Year from the Greendale American Legion Post, earned an award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in recognition and appreciation for dedication, support and contribution to law enforcement, letters of recommendation from Milwaukee Alderman, Greendale Police Chief David Leack, Greendale Fire and Police Commission, the Wisconsin State Senate, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation  and

WHEREAS, Robert J. Dams Jr. is a member of the Wisconsin Chief’s of Police, International Chief’s of Police, Fight Crime Save a Kid, United States Representative Paul Ryan’s Police Advisory Board, ITT Tech College Criminal Justice Advisory Board, Wisconsin Homicide Investigators Association, serves as Milwaukee County liaison to the Office of Justice Assistance for Violence Against Women, serves as Milwaukee County Chief’s Association liaison to Homeland Security grants applications process, and is a member and past president of the Milwaukee County Law Enforcement Association; now

THEREFORE, the members of the Wisconsin State Senate, on the motion of Senator Mary Lazich congratulate Robert J. Dams, Jr. upon retirement from the Greendale Police Department.  Robert J. Dams, Jr. is further commended for years of service to the Village of Greendale, Milwaukee County, and the entire State of Wisconsin.
