Conservatively Speaking

State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.

UPS to require photo ID

Another item on the growing list of activities that require a photo ID.  According to the La Crosse Tribune:

"NEW YORK — UPS will require photo identification from customers shipping packages at retail locations around the world…"

Will voter ID opponents accuse UPS of racism or crusade with other voter ID opposition arguments?

UPS has a good reason for the change:

"The Atlanta-based package courier said Tuesday the move is part of an ongoing review to enhance security…

In late October, a printer cartridge on a UPS cargo plane bound for Chicago was stopped in London after explosives were discovered. The package was later traced to a retail location in Yemen."

If photo ID is important to physical human safety as UPS has determined, then voter ID is equally important to the election process of politicians that decide public policy about physical human safety.  Soon the Wisconsin State Legislature will provide similar security to the votes of Wisconsin citizens.
