Becoming a Cynic is too easy!
TMJ4's Jeff Wagner reports the Racine Unified School District is faced with close to $450,000, or more, in extra expenses because of the "teacher" walkout during the bombast in Madison. And Paul Holley, of the Mount Pleasant Patch confirms this reporting. He also says the School Board is still investigating the absences of February 17th. It takes more than sixty days to conclude who was legitimately sick and who wasn't? The teachers who stayed in class during that period will be paid extra for the added day(s) of school. The School District in another report indicates they may be in a deficit of more than $5,000,000. It's for the children don't you know!
Interesting to see how much this excursion into social justice will cost other school districts across the state. The Associated Press, through the JS reports that the Kenosha Unified School District looking at a $33 million budget shortfall and in position where it will reduce staffing of 247 employees, including 212 teachers.
