And Speaking of the Annual Meeting....
The School District of New Berlin Budget Hearing/Annual Meeting was held on July 26, 2010 and it was a doozy.
After the Budget Hearing portion, School Board Vice President Dave Maxey nominated fellow board member Susan Manley to chair the Annual Meeting. District resident/parent Janie McGinty nominated Heather Warner. The electorate voted. Ms. Warner garnered more votes than Ms. Manley and was declared chairperson.
And More Re: District Budget Hearing/Annual Meeting
New Berlin School District Administration and School Board presented a tax levy for voter approval at the July 26, 2010 Budget Hearing/Annual Meeting that was 6.16% higher than the previous year’s.
It seems a 6.16% increase was just ducky to Dolores Karner, who stepped up to the microphone to commend the school board for “keeping taxes down”. Ms. Karner, you may recall is longtime treasurer of New Berlin Citizens for Responsible Government, a political group that endorsed all the current school board members. She also expressed the opinion that the Board should get financial concessions from teachers, but nothing about getting concessions from administrators or other district employees.
